FAQ

CAN I REPOST YOUR WORK ON MY SITE OR WOULD YOU DO A GUEST POST?
You MAY NOT repost, reproduce or use my work in ANY way without my prior written consent and without attribution. I have a Creative Commons license that states that you may not use my work for commercial purposes or financial gain and that you may not alter, transform or build upon my work. Please be advised, all content on The Other Side of The Tortilla is copyrighted. Online reprints without authorization are defended under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

I occasionally agree to do guest posts. You may also hire me as a freelance writer. I do not accept guest post offers from other writers on my site.

WHAT KIND OF CAMERAS DO YOU SHOOT WITH?
Many of my older photos are shot with Canon DSLR cameras, using 28mm, 28-135mm and 50mm lenses. I now mostly shoot content with my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

WHAT KIND OF LIGHT DO YOU USE?
I use natural light, most often from my kitchen window.

WHY DON'T YOU POST FISH OR SHELLFISH RECIPES?
I'm allergic to all fish and shellfish, and therefore don't cook those things in my kitchen. I'm happy to recommend trusted recipes and cookbooks to get your fill of things I don't make.

CAN YOU RECOMMEND SOME GOOD MARIACHI MUSIC?
My favorite mariachi group is Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán and they're considered by many to be the greatest mariachi in the world. If you're looking for an introduction to classic mariachi music including some of the most popular songs, I recommend their Las Numero 1 del Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán album which includes 40 songs.

DO YOU DO SPONSORED POSTS ON YOUR BLOG?
Yes. In the interest of full disclosure, I have a blog category called "Sponsored" so that any post that I received compensation for is tagged under that category. Additionally, to comply with FTC disclosure rules, you may see disclosures on individual posts noting whether I received free samples, products to cook with, all-expense-paid travel, etc. Any specific brand items that I write about here and recommend to my readers that are not listed under the "Sponsored" category are merely brands that I've discovered on my own, prefer to keep in my home and that I purchase with my own money. I have received no compensation to recommend them here.

I am open to receiving samples of Mexican cooking ingredients, cookbooks or cooking tools if you fit my niche, but I do not accept any old random samples for review. Products will only be considered if they fit into the confines of what I write about here: Mexican food, culture and travel. If I choose to accept a sample, that doesn't guarantee I'll write about it. My promise to the reader: I will never tell you to buy a product that I received a review sample of if I don't truly like it and I'll always disclose if I received a free sample. Please contact me with further questions if you want to send me samples.
